Investigate How Immune Response Protects Against Disease!
Research-Based & Developed with Support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
With this hands-on lab investigation, students create models of pathogens, antibodies and antigen-antibody interaction. They then perform simulated laboratory tests to compare the antibody levels of unvaccinated and vaccinated children who have been exposed to the bacteria that cause pertussis. They’ll also learn about the importance of childhood vaccinations in the prevention of diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis.
