Group 1 of the Periodic Table contains the reactive alkali metals.  Your students first build their easy to make paper models of atoms and electrons. They then use the models to look at how the Group 1 elements react. The differently colored electrons make it easy to see how the bonds are formed. The models shows reactions with water, oxygen and chlorine.
