Earth's atmosphere has dramatically altered since the planet formed 4.6 billion years ago. From its formation as a molten planet to the emergence of life the atmosphere has evolved.  Your students will actually visualize these changes as they construct their 3-D model.

First, your students make their models of the atmosphere at different times. Then, they use it to make comparisons at how it has changed and what has caused this to happen. The model covers the time from Earth's primordial atmosphere through different stages as volcanoes, comets, meteors, water and life played their part.
