Starfish Dissection Model Making Kit Set of 5

Perform a simulated dissection to study the anatomy of a starfish!

Using our innovative model, your students can carry out a simulated dissection using our paper model of a starfish (sea star). A great way to prepare for a dissection or as an alternative to a real dissection.

Students assemble their easy to make starfish model using the colorful parts working alone or in small groups. They build the starfish and then add the organs to the model. This model can either be built up in a “reverse dissection” or you can start with it made and take it apart as in a dissection.

The model can be used to identify and study the anatomy of the major body systems. It covers the water vascular system (madreporite, stone canal, ring canal, radial canals, tube feet), digestive system (mouth, cardiac stomach, pyloric stomach, pyloric caeca, rectal caecum) and reproductive system (gonads, gonadopores).

The Model Making Kit includes enough materials for students to assemble up to 5 paper models working cooperatively.
